Bryan Naugle, the Executive Director of the Insperity Invitational, has been promoting, managing and operating professional golf tournaments for over 35 years.
As a youth, he was inspired and encouraged by golf legend Dave Marr to get involved in the game. The California native got his start in the business at the grassroots level—setting up gallery ropes for PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events in Palm Springs, CA. This led to a job with the operations and promotions staff of the Champions Tour, now PGA TOUR Champions. During that time, he studied the rules of the game and became a Rules Official and then Tournament Director for the age 50-and-older circuit. He then became a partner of Pro Links Sports– one of the most successful and respected companies in golf.
Along the way, Naugle earned the respect of such greats as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, and many others. With a constant smile on his face and a willingness to share, he also created friendships in many cities and states where the Champions Tour visited.
Under his guidance, the Insperity Invitational has annually received top awards. in 2008, the tournament received the prestigious Presidents Award as the best event on the Champions Tour, and in 2011 received the President’s Award for Excellence in Achievement. In 2012 and 2015, the tournament received The Players Award for having the “best of everything” for the players, sponsors, and spectators.
On an individual level, Naugle has received the prestigious Bruno Award for outstanding contributions to the PGA TOUR Champions and the game of golf. He has also received the Dave Marr Award, given annually to honor individuals who exemplify all the traits Mr. Marr lived by—sportsmanship, honesty, character, integrity and a passion for the game of golf. This list of honorees includes Arnold Palmer, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Fuzzy Zoeller, and many others.
